Bovis Lend Lease Starts Construction on Congressional Plaza Apartments
Bethesda, MD – February 1, 2002 – The Washington, DC office of Bovis Lend Lease is providing General Contracting services for the new 146-unit apartment complex in Rockville, Maryland. The $14.9 million project consists of a 300-car precast garage surrounded on three sides by four-story apartment buildings, which connect to the garage. The luxury apartment complex includes efficiency, one and two bedroom units. Construction began in January 2002 and is scheduled for completion in April 2003.

The Owner for this project is Federal Realty Investment Trust of Rockville, Maryland. Congressional Plaza Apartments will be built on the former parking lot of the retail center owned and managed by Federal Realty. Bovis Lend Lease recently completed 7255 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda, Maryland, and is currently providing construction services for Pentagon Row in Arlington, Virginia and Santana Row in San Jose, California for Federal Realty Investment Trust. The architect for Congressional Gardens is CHK-Torti Gallas of Silver Spring, Maryland.
